Back on April 4, I posted an unfinished short film by my young friend Luke Covert. I received a number of comments from y'all, which I appreciated very much. HERE IS LUKE'S NEWEST SHORT FILM. "Julie" It's 14 minutes long, and I'd like any film critics here to watch it and give me your reviews! Here's the link to the film:
At first I was going to respond as a wiseacre that activity in the Great Outdoors should be accompanied by nature's soundtrack so get rid of them headphones already. At film's end, however, I got the feeling that perhaps one of the themes has to do with modern dependency on technology to the extent that personal sovereignty is an endangered species. Like certain kinds of wolves. The propagandist's spewings fit nicely in that scenario as well. The ending, as such, is pure rebellion as an assertion of self-authority.
File this under first impressions subject to revision.
