I was wondering if any of our beloved Soundtrack labels would ever want to put a Soundtrack CD covers book together like this CRITERION book?

That's a flattering idea, but Criterion generally commissions original art for their packaging, and that's pretty rare among the soundtrack labels. We mostly repurpose existing key art from the studios, and as a result our CD covers are not all that "original".More importantly, the labels don't own that imagery. Criterion owns their interpretations.

Do folks on the board think we could get away with selling iconic soundtracks (like Jaws) without using the original poster image on the cover?

That's the case for some collector vinyl reissues, a la Criterion, but it's a different market.

Joe, is there any chance that your covers can be made available on a site other than Album Art Exchange? As you may be aware, users outside of the US have been blocked for a number of years. We poor sods need your terrific covers available for our iTunes, etc. smile

Sorry to the OP for going off topic

If any the labels did make such books they would be limited I would think. My what I wouldn't give for such books...or even posters too?

Who's with me?

I don't think I'd buy it UNLESS there were interviews with the artists who made them and designed the rest of the artwork to go with it. Otherwise, I keep copies digitally in a folder, which I put into my iTunes. That, however, does not mean I don't think it's a great idea. I think it's a terrific way of celebrating an art that all of us here love.
