WATERSHIP DOWN- The original film is a classic. I dunno about this.

It is, but not a flawless one. It pales in comparison to the novel on which it's based, and there's some room for improvement. Moreover, the original film wasn't an original work in and of itself, since of course it was based on the novel. I think there's a difference between remaking a wholly original movie and doing a new film / TV adaptation of a novel that's been adapted for the screen before.

That said, I'm not so sure about the reports that the violence in this version will be toned down from previous versions. I think the story needs to retain some blood. I do like that this one will develop the female characters a bit more, though.

The original "Watership Down" film was good -- it doesn't need to be re-made. This is becoming a parody film line: "Sequels, re-makes, and prequels -- oh my!"

The Hollywood Regurge-itron strikes again.
