Continuing my breakdowns of the Star Wars soundtracks, here's the film sequences/themes that go with the cue suites found on the Attack of the Clones soundtrack:

I remember liking this score right off when I first bought it, and wondering how an electric guitar was going to fit into a Star Wars movie... of course it was dialed out!

This is so cool! Always nice to see what's really in the star wars album tracks, especially when crossfaded. Half of the cue lengths I was just guessing at, but your homework helps soothe the OCD completest in me wink

Glad you liked it. I'm always surprised when I find out that a certain track was used for a totally different scene than I imagined when I read the track title.

Great analysis of Alien as well. I queued up the album while reading your cue descriptions and kept saying "so THAT'S where that sound comes from"

Ed C, a question about the music which accompanies the probe droid traveling toward Hoth in the opening scenes of "The Empire Strikes Back" --- It appears on the double CD at the beginning of Disc One, Track Four. Was this quieter, lilting, mysterious-sounding version (the one used in the film) recorded specifically to replace the frenetic version we're all used to hearing (on *all* versions of the album), or was it really "tracked over" with unused music from Han and Chewie's stalking of the probe later in the film? I've read articles that state *both* actually, so I'm totally confused at this point.

I've always wondered about this --- and have asked about it in other threads --- because I love the beautiful version used in the film, and absolutely *hate* the bombastic original version used on the album(s).

That's a good question, one for which I have no answer... I assume the people who assembled the edits for the 2 CD would know. Or Ken Wannberg? Are they on this board?
