Apparently, Prince died of AIDS-related causes. He was able to deal with it up with medications up until about 2 years ago, then he got involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses, and they convinced him God had healed him, and he didn't need medications. So he stopped taking them, and his health declined, until he reached the point where it was too late. I've heard this from several sources. He was expected to go sometime this summer, but it must have been too much for him. I'm sorry he needed to do what he did. Hope he's happier now.

Prince single-handedly kept the funk tradition alive during the 80's when rap was in ascent. No greater joy then being in a dance club when his music blasted over the floor.* rip funky one * "Partyman" "1999" "I would Die For You"

In 1986's UNDER THE CHERRY MOON, Prince plays a gigolo named "Christopher Tracy," and former Time member Jerome Benton plays his partner, "Tricky." Together, the pair swindle wealthy French women. The situation gets complicated when Christopher falls in love with heiress "Mary Sharon" (Kristin Scott Thomas) after planning to swindle her when he finds out that she receives a $50 million trust fund on her 21st birthday. Prince directed the film, and along with his group, The Revolution, provided the score, which was released by Paisley Park/Warner Bros. under the title "Parade." GRAFFITI BRIDGE was a sequel to PURPLE RAIN. The film's plot re-joins "The Kid," in his future life as a performer and club owner. Prince directed and provided the score for the 1990 film. The soundtrack was released by Paisley Park/Warner Bros.
