Evangelion fans, looks like were getting an Evangelion-esque score for this film - I'm sure some of you noticed that some shots in the trailer mirror shots from the Evangelion TV/Films. I think this looks great!

Shame they didn't go back to Michiru Oshima, whose three Godzilla scores are amazing, but I'll be excited to hear what Sagisu does all the same.

And I thought the two American Godzilla designs were awful...

I really like the design but I'm not sure I like the CG rendering (or enhancement). The first images of the head were really terrific--a diseased, scarred nightmare with horrible, beady little eyes. Hopefully that will come across a bit more in the film. But I'm not impressed with the look of the live action (i.e. scenes with human characters) at all. Very typical Toho flat and uninspired-looking.

Godzilla is not CGI in this film. Enhancements, yes.

Yeah, I've heard it's a suit but the shots make it look too CG.

I'm actually kinda impressed with the FX as we've seen them so far. The tail swooping low over the power lines is a terrific shot.

Yeah I actually think there's a lot of cool shots in the trailer, and they did a good job making Godzilla look huge. Just hate the design.

What kind of release is this going to get in the States?

Direct to Netflix. What else would it get...?

I speak with sardonic bitterness of course.

That shot of the tanks in column rotating their turrets together was absolutely straight out of Evangelion.

Huge Godzilla fan here and i have waiting with bated breath for this new film but i have to say both the trailer and the music are a bit dissapointing to me. It all looks and sounds a bit dull.

I've been slowly, slowly catching up with the 90's and 00's Godzilla films, which I enjoy until I tire of it all after a while. If I didn't already know this is new, I would have thought this was one of those earlier movies. (I'm kind of color blind to the various designs, and no expert. I just prefer the goofier films from all eras.)

This is the first Godzilla since Fukushima, no? I wonder if that shaped the direction they took at all.

Why the automatic assumption that the music in the trailer in any way will resemble the music in the film?

CD will be released 29 Jul in Japan.

and some notice.
Music of this teaser trailer is composed by Shiro Sagisu. Maybe movie's main motif.
Gojira itself was suit until now. But this movie's Gojira is made by CGI not suit.
