Saw the film yesterday (liked it). Newman's music was good, but I'm a little disappointed that Dory's motif from the first movie was nowhere to be found (then again, to be fair, I haven't heard the soundtrack on its own yet).
I listened to the soundtrack for the first movie yesterday and I fell back in love with that jubilant version of her motif when the memories come back and she realizes that she's found Nemo.
Oh, you're serious. Well, it first appears in "Short-Term Dory" (of course), then there's an up-tempo version in "Sydney Harbor", a pensive version late in "Pelicans", twice in "All Drains Lead to the Ocean" and the aforementioned jubilant version in "...P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney...".
No, I was being serious. I do know that motif, but I didn't ever think of it as being attached to her, and I'm honestly not sure that it really is. I thought it was just kind of an action / motion motif that Newman was using throughout.
