Well, this has yet to be confirmed by more reliably sources but at least according to IMDB (I know) Marco Beltrami should be back to score James Mangold's upcoming WOLVERINE sequel, which should mark his third collaboration with the director. More news and hopefully definitive confirmation coming soon...
-----------
Confirmed now: Cliff Martinez has signed on to score James Mangold’s currently untitled Wolverine sequel.
and now: And Martinez is no longer involved in the project...
I hope he does do it. I loved his Wolverine score and play it often. My only problem with Beltramu is he does so much stuff I dang keep up buying it or even finding out about it.
I know, right? This was the 3rd new thread about a new Beltrami project this week. I really liked the first score so hopefully he does the sequel and expands the previous material.
Well... fortunately those 3 projects will be release during next 3 years... who knows when Cowboys actually happens since the first news are dated back to 2013 and only now it seems the project might finally move forward to actual pre-production... it may be a LONG time before that one is released... Wolverine hasn't even started shooting yet... so it is not like all those projects will be released within a few months... I am sure he will have a plenty of time to work on both The Cowboys and next Wolverine (which still needs to be confirmed by more reliable sources).
FYI... for this year it is fairly quiet especially compared to last year... so far the only known projects for this year are:
GODS OF EGYPT - recorded in July/August last year, released this February BEN-HUR - recorded a few weeks ago, to be released this August THE SHALLOWS - recording dates TBA, release date June MATILDA - recording dates TBA, release date mid September
I love that they're calling this "WOLVERINE SEQUEL"!! What a great title! In the vein of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and "Superman: The Movie" and of course "Airplane II: The Sequel".

I understand LOGAN will be screened out of competition at the Berlin Film Festival in February - so the score might actually be done for a locked picture! Can´t wait for first clips!
I enjoyed his score to The Wolverine as well and it will be nice to hear whether he employs some thematic continuity or goes off in a new direction.
I hope that Beltrami will expand on the theme used in the track "Where To?" (and heard for the first time at his Cordoba concert). I was a bit disappointed after the first listens of the album with how little this theme was used in the actual score.
