Finally released in theatres tomorrow... still no sign of the score album...

if anyone goes to see it, don't forget to post about the score... since there are still no clips that would reveal much of the music... besides maybe this one in which the score is mixed fairly low underneath tons of sfx, etc... except little brief moment.

Reviews for the movie itself are unexpectedly quite good!

The script was on the Black List for a while and Jaume Collet-Serra has made a career out of classying up B-movies like HOUSE OF WAX and NON-STOP. Color me excited.

Looking forward to the movie...and not just because it'll feature Blake Lively in a bikini for 90 minutes. razz We could use a good, unpretentious B-movie by this point in the summer, one that isn't 150 goddamn minutes long.

agreed, I would not be too surprised if this movie is really good.
Also, let's not forget that Blake Lively is not some random blond babe, she's a "real" actress.

So has anyone actually seen it?

FYI about 31 minutes is available to listen to on Marco Beltrami's official website.

I did. Blake Lively is awesome, the shark is terrific, the ocean is beautiful, but Collet-Serra directs it in a commercial/videoclip way and doesn't know how to tell a story. The score is functional at best.

Not bad, but "functional" is indeed the best word for this.

Saw it tonight. Film was pretty good, except fot the daft ending.

Beltrami's score was horribly bland and instantly forgettable. What happened to the guy who wrote such tense and brutal scores like Scream and Mimic? It's really been awhile since I've been blown away by a Beltrami score

The guy has deffo lost his mojo.
I've never been a super fan of his, but some of his older efforts have been decent enough.
But he seems to be getting worse, not better.

2017 and still no release, physical or download. I feel this would be a great addition to Varese's Limited Edition line along side "In The Electric Mist" and "Seventh Son".
