Watching this fantastic miniseries, it's up to episode 4 of 6 in the UK this week. It airs in the US starting April 19.

The score is excellent, excited to see there will be a CD on April 1:

Yep - lots of good stuff in this series, including the score. Great cast and locations, excellent writing. One of the stand outs for me is the fascinatingly malevolent turn by Tom Hollander as Corky.

Hiddleston seems to be using it as a Bond audition but he doesn't yet have the presence in my opinion. Give him another year in the gym and he might make it.

I'm enjoying it 10x more than the last Bond film though, and the plot makes 10x more sense. smile

The score definitely makes an impression - subtle, thematic, unifying - very cleverly spotted. Great music.

I'm half intrigued, half bored by the series itself. Love the cast - Hugh Laurie FFS - so sticking with it.

Liked the score in the pilot episode... the 2nd one... didn't really grab me that much either so not that eager to continue watching but I'll be getting the score one day...

Thanks for posting this, James, I was about to look this up myself. It's a great theme, and the underscore isn't too shabby either! Very glad this is getting a CD release.

(And to say that this is ten times more enjoyable than Spectre is still an understatement smile)

For those who haven't seen the show, here's the brilliant opening titles sequence from each episode, featuring the main theme:

VERY Bondian and clever.

This has started airing on AMC in the U.S. Watched the first episode. Top notch.

Too bad the score doesn't have that much to offer besides the main theme.

Please indicate them.
This is #1 on my Must Watch. People are saying Hiddleston as Bond. I can get behind this.

Not sure what you mean, there aren't any spoilers in the thread that I can see.

I watched the first episode a few days ago. Well, it didn't do much for me. I'm assuming it gets better?

Hmm. I thought it was gripping and smart from start to finish, but the tone is much the same throughout. So if you didn't like the first episode, then no, I don't think you'll change your opinion of it as it continues.

I hate to be contrarious, but I am not as impressed with the music. Mainly, it seems to make the otherwise-ambitiously-framed production seem smaller. For whatever reason, the music doesn't strike me as nearly expansive or penetrating enough for the miniseries' size and scale.

Just my two cents.

P.S. I agree with the viewpoint that the first episode was much better than the second. I'll leave it to the third to help me decide whether to invest time in the fourth, fifth, and sixth.
