I am a big fan of the Winter Soldier score as well. In fact, I just listened to it yesterday. Any word on the soundtrack release for Civil War? Although Intrada released Winter Soldier, Hollywood Records released Ant Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I love the Winter Soldier score. Really? That surprises me a little. I like parts of it. But I liked First Avenger better. Let me think: Is Jackman the first composer to get to score a Marvel sequel? I mean a sequel that he did the previous film for? He is, isn't he? Silvestri getting The Avengers after Cap 1 and Tyler getting Avengers 2 after Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 are probably the closest runners up.

Right Tallguy... First time a composer can really expand on his own themes in a Marvel sequel. Should be interesting! What about Elfman's Spider-Man 2? Yes, a troubled post-production in terms of music, but still..... I'm just talking about Marvel Studios (aka Marvel Cinematic Universe). Otherwise I think I could count John Ottman for X-2 and Days of Future Past and Age of Apocalypse. Oh, and Ottman did two Fantastic Four films. Pity Winter Soldier didn't have stronger themes. (IMHO). I can't imagine Jackman will be using any other composer's themes (Ant Man for example). But he could surprise me.

It surprises you that I love it or that anyone does? That you do. (No idea why, really.) Taking a Stand is a pretty darn good cue though. (Except when it's in a random mix I have to wait to hear if it's Cap 2 or Pirates of the Caribbean.) I LOVE The Smithsonian. (The cue. The place is nice too.)

Lots of the underscore in Winter Soldier was pretty useless musically speaking, but the end titles cue (inexplicably left off the CD) was absolutely AWESOME! I like it better than anything in Silvestri's first score, which otherwise is much better and more consistent. I hope Jackman's Civil War score is more thematic throughout than Winter Soldier was.
