Broughton's adaptation of Goldsmith's themes is great. Also, were those a few percussive beats in there from The Wind and the Lion in Egypt?

Still no release. What is Disney thinking?

Still no release. What is Disney thinking? Probably that putting out a full CD of music from one of their rides will make for limited sales at best. They're probably also thinking that the new Soarin' piece will likely appear on one of the theme park compilations that Disney seems to release a revised edition of every few years or so. In other words, sit tight. I'm certainly aware of these issues, but if I'm not mistaken it has been three years since the last official park music album appeared. Joel McNeely's music for the Hall of Presidents, premiered in 2011, still hasn't been released.

Last time I was at the parks in California I found it very hard to find a store that even sold any of these CD's, now that's super sad and scary

Ride opened four years ago. Still no music released other than a fragment originally posted on Youtube. Beyond frustrating. What’s more frustrating is that both Pandora and Galaxy’s Edge received digital releases, yet none of Broughton’s stuff beyond the the Official Album from 2013 has been released. I’m sure Randy Thornton is trying to get this released, but perhaps the people in charge aren’t 100% convinced yet. From the last podcast Broughton did it sounds like they may have tried to put out his set last year, but it got held up by including Fantastic Flight. If I had to guess it probably would have been at D23. All speculation of course, it just seems unreasonable in this day and age that things can get so held up. If the “Snyder Cut” can get released this should be no problem... Interesting little side note, it seems like the Pre-Shows in the US, Hong Kong, and Tokyo all received completely different music. Hong Kong’s feature Jerry’s theme in a beautiful “Asian” rendition. There are some minor differences between each ride as well, I’m guessing Broughton recorded inserts for these sections.

At last Broughton's music for Soarin' has been officially released -- not the American version, but "Soaring-Fantastic Flight" at Tokyo DisneySea. The music appears on a new 20th anniversary album for the park. It really is a shame that this beautiful piece of music has been unavailable here for 5 years, despite Intrada's unflagging efforts behind the scenes to release a compendium of Broughton's Disney park music. My personal "holy grail" is the preshow music that plays over a map showing the various locales that will be flown over. Clearly, this will never see the light of day, unless Intrada prevails. Meanwhile, you'll have to get your hands on a pricey cd from Japan (it will also be available through digital outlets, though it is unclear if that will include the U.S. market).
