What wonders, a Masters of Music tribute to one another: John Williams plays Jerry Goldsmith!

Who was there? I was and he played this piece also at The Lincoln Center NY concert of Mr Williams!

The tempo on this performance is a lot closer to the film version than the standard concert version, which is much slower. Williams recorded that version — it appears on Out of This World (the same can be heard on the Erich Kunzel album Time Warp, and later Symphonic Star Trek).

Wonderful version of that overture. Reminds me of a Mancini concert when Henry conducted Out Of Africa. Love it when maestros like these guys tip their hat to colleagues.
