MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY---a report comments on Darth Vader, with voice by James Earl Jones, in ROGUE ONE, "Darth Vader will have action sequences in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We have been told that Darth Vader has had several suits of armor built for the film. There is a hero suit which is a direct copy of the suit we have seen in "Star Wars: A New Hope", down to the lenses in the eyes. The most interesting part is that stunt suits have been built, which indicates Darth Vader will in fact see action.
The action sequences filmed are unknown, but there was work pitching the different ways Darth Vader could kill rebels on a battlefield with the Force and his lightsaber. The storyboard 'pitches' showed decapitated rebels, people being dismembered by Vader throwing his sword, levitating bodies to make human shields, and so on. The art was more violent than what we’ve seen Darth Vader do on screen before."
The report also explains Forest Whitaker's role in ROGUE ONE, "It appears he has one leg and uses a cane as a crutch to walk. Earlier reports made it seem like he might have one leg but the clarification on the topic is a 'robot leg.' He appears to be a veteran of some battles, but it isn’t clear if he lost his leg fighting in The Clone Wars or against the Empire.
Based on a differentiated code name from the rest of the rebels in the movie, it appears he is likely good but maybe a bounty hunter affiliated type. He has a cape and his costume is a hodgepodge of different things (think of someone you might see at Maz's Castle)."
Also, rumors that Boba Fett is in the movie were apparently confirmed when LEGO Toys revealed its ROGUE ONE toy lineup which included Boba Fett's Slave 1 spaceship.
A photo was released showing a ROGUE ONE costume.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII---Gwendoline Christie confirmed she's returning as Captain Phasma for EPISODE VIII, "I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that's an exclusive, actually. I was very overexcited. I made no secret of the fact that I really campaigned for the part for a long time. And then I was delighted when J.J. Abrams wanted to have me in the film and then wanted to cast me in this role that had originally been designed for a man."

ALIEN: COVENANT---Noomi Rapace won't return for the sequel after her character, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, was written out of the sequel.

xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE---Vin Diesel released a photo from the film set.

GAME OF THRONES---Sophie Turner commented on Sansa Stark in Season 6, "I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa, it's probably her best season yet. It's her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it's really good. It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it's been building up and up to that. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves."

GOTHAM---Jada Pinkett Smith will return as Fish Mooney for a few episodes in Season 2.

THE COMMUTER---Liam Neeson and director Jaume Collet-Serra (NON-STOP) reunite for this movie about a businessman headed home on a commuter train who gets involved in a criminal conspiracy.

ROBIN HOOD 2058---comic book writer Tony Lee will write the script for this futuristic reimagining of Robin Hood in which a a rogue MI5 agent seeks revenge and justice in a dystopian 2058 London.

COLETTE---Keira Knightley is in talks to star in this biomovie about French writer Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (GIGI).

What the...?!? Shaw is out of the PROMETHEUS sequel? That's gotta be a joke. How's that even possible, given the set-up of the film's ending and what Scott has been saying for, like, 3 years now?!?

If it's true I have no interest in this movie anymore.

Darth Vader: The thoughts upon how Vader would fight sound pretty creative, pretty cool. *If* there is to be a Vader portrayal in another film, they need to get someone of the same bearing as David Prowse, and if possible utilize James Earl Jones` voice talents again. In the decades since `77, I have heard many take a crack at that voice who are not he, and noone can (as yet) boom & command like he can.

Do I need a film telling the tale of acquiring plans for the Death Star? No. But I`m certainly willing to watch what they do post-Force Awakens.

Just don`t follow the prequel Vader. That isn`t Vader. Its not Star Wars either (except in bits). So yes, Prowse`ish stature, Earl Jones voice.

!

Oh, I still have plenty of interest. I just find it to be an incredible, lost opportunity. Scott has now also confirmed Rapace's absence from the sequel.

I'm hoping there is, at the very least, some explanation for her absence (I'm aware the the film is about a new crew and ship discovering the planet inhabited by Fassbender's David) -- if not, there is at the very least potential for a separate Shaw spin-off movie here. Or something. Don't just write her out without any explanation, please!

That slimy talking head trickster is going to eject the trusting Dr Shaw out the Engineer ship door while she's in hypersleep - they're going to "newt" her. Seems old habits die hard!

Only Scott had nothing to do with Alien 3. I love the bleak opening of that film though. This reeks of retooling to satiate those who were disappointed with the first film, but liked David. There are only two huge problems with this idea: he's an awful "person" and this whole god damn trip was her idea!

Gotta laugh when making prequels, sequels and mid-quels are becoming a bigger chore than just doing something new and inventive.

It's not just the robots in the movies that are a bit "twitchy."

I agree with you, Thor. There has got to be some explanation for not having Rapace in the sequel. Did David kill her? Did she die on the planet? Is she somewhere else? I agree she should be in it. If she isn't, I want to know why.

I'm sure they will explain it. I thought I read somewhere that the new crew was in search of the survivors of Prometheus 10 years later.
