Wanna cry tears of joy? MSM got you covered,Arturo Rodriguez From Earth to Mars A Symphonic Journey and the two concert pieces accompaning it are big, emotional scifimusic 80s goldsmith, horner and williams style.hyperbole? nope.he managed to evoke their styles and music without directly ripping it off like most of them do.incredible.on par with tall ships suite, battle of the atlantic suite, planet earth symphony, cinema symphony and kaskas tone poems.

Downloaded this from iTunes off the OP's praise.

It's well-orchestrated, big. "The Launch" definitely recalls 80's Horner.

Can't recall any of the melodies fifteen minutes later, I'm afraid.

Perhaps I'll revisit in a few days and see if it grows on me. After all, there was a time when CONAN and KRULL were "meh" for me, and I now consider those two of the greatest film scoring achievements ever...

If a musical genius like Arturo Rodriguez goes Hollywood , I can imagine some Hollywood producer telling him to give me a Hans Zimmer-like score and that would be the end of a genius. Arturo Rodriguez you are in a league with the greatest composers of all time. I can't stop playing FROM EARTH TO MARS. Even while writing this, I am enthralled by this score.

I just finished playing this music and it is indeed very impressive. It reminds me a lot of John Williams yet has its own style too. While it's a concert piece it sure sounds like a film score. It's a shame someone with the talent of Arturo Rodriguez is not currently scoring films, my guess is film producers no longer want music of this high caliber.
I'm enjoying it a lot, thanks for bringing it to my attention guys.

I decided to revisit this again today and liked it a lot more the second time around. A very strong work with some beautiful, mysterious dark portions that recall Horner's BRAINSTORM for me (especially the choral writing) and strong (if not quite as dexterous) heroic writing as well. This fellow sure knows his way around the orchestra. Interested to hear what else he might do going forward.

A very talented composer indeed.
