Hi, misterkane and/or Stefan Schlegel. I placed La Viaccia on my wish list within SAE, but now it's been removed from the site. Another Piccioni album on Saimel which I've been planning to get has also been deleted (L'Italia Vista dal Cielo). Can one of you or both please chat with SAE about restocking these (and other) titles by Saimel? Saimel discs should be made available for longer periods of time, IMO.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I have informed "misterkane", who is the manager of Saimel and who therefore normally deals with SAE regarding these CDs, a few hours ago, but have not yet received a reply from him. I hope that he will soon post here himself and will explain everything. Honestly said, I am totally surprised about this myself and have no idea what has happened here and why the CDs have suddenly been removed. But don't worry, the LA VIACCIA CD is certainly not sold out.

Thanks to both of you for replying promptly. I placed an order with SAE for 2 copies of La Viaccia, along with 2 other Saimel titles (one Gaslini & one Lavagnino). I would like to support misterkane by buying 4 Saimel discs in 1 order. I plan to order another 4 Saimel titles in March. (more Lavagnino, a Morricone & Rossellini).

Thank you so much for your support ZardozSpeaks. You're welcome, misterkane. I recently remitted payment to SAE for 2 copies of LA VIACCIA + Lavagnino's 7 EROICHE CAROGNE & Gaslini's QUANDO LE DONNE SI CHIAMAVANO MADONNE. I'll be placing another order for another 4 Saimel CDs soon ... ... I wish Saimel could make Piccioni's L'ITALIA VISTA DAL CIELO (as well as other Saimel albums) available again through vendors such as SAE & Dusty Groove & Intrada.

Stefan, Hi, there are female vocals on this score and 2 male vocals tracks - do you know who the singers are? Liner notes link no longer available and I can't find the credits anywhere.

On the cue sheets that we had from Sugar/CAM there were no infos about the names of the singers. All of it is just source music in the movie itself. For example the solo vocalise in track 12 is sung by one of the prostitutes in the brothel. And the song at the end is just traditional folklore - not by Piccioni - sung by one of the peasants in the fields.

Many thanks Stefan. Sounds an impossible one to nail down. Unfortunately italian scores are very erratic when it comes to credits. Some are very thorough, others are very vague or non existent. Sometimes I find if you go back to original LP albums or EPs n singles, you can find singer credits that disappear on later CD releases.
