This is a newly started thread were i will present music in a new way, Some of it will sound different and others will only have minor adjustmens

It's not like there will be a mix where the brass section is more heavy than earlier version, it more like an "alternate album presentation"

Let's start

THE ABYSS by Silvestri

While THE ABYSS is one of my favourite scores, I don't have the expanded release and it's been several years since I saw the film last. Still, I assume the "changes" you've done here is to layer the militaristic drums over the choir?

actually it's three different tracks from the expanded release but don't concern youself with that - try instead just to listen and enjoy

i made this album in the style of the album presentations of the STAR WARS LP and ALIEN LP

2. Theme from Jaws (2:34)

3. Montage (Touristst on the Menu) (1:34)

5. The Shark (2:57)

6. Out to Sea (2:25)

I'm still a bit confused by this topic, I'm afraid.

By 'new version', do you mean your own personal playlist/sequencing of tracks?

Why don't you take a listen to it (34 minuttes)

I could, but it would help if I got some response in regard to what this is about first (again, are you seeking feedback on your own personal playlist of tracks -- or, in your words, "a new version (mix)")?

Nonsens, if you would take the time of and listen to it you wouldn't even ask about what it is about

Ha, ha....what?

You've created a topic about...well, something, but I'm not sure what. And then you want me to listen to....something I don't quite know what is. I asked you if it was a 'personal playlist' consisting of tracks from various scores (you use the word 'new version (mix)', so I assume you're talking about a personal playlist), but for some weird reason, you refuse to tell me what this 'project' is about. Why?

Thor you asks way too much questions - why don't you just take a chance, you won't die from it wink

Thanks, but I prefer to spend my time listening to stuff I actually know what is.

I fully agree with Thor here...

You don't know what "Jaws" is?

No, what is that?

In all seriousness, do you know what this 'project' is about? If Marcato won't say, I'd love to hear your take.

My guess is that Marcato is simply putting a new spin on the "Jaws" soundtrack album experience. Why does that bother you so much? You're free to just disregard the whole topic, if you wish.... smile

From the two samples posted, it isn't really anything specific.

The Abyss clip has one track overlaying another.

The Jaws clip is more of a re-sequencing thing. With cues joined together in the way that Williams might have done for one of the Star Wars prequels.

Either way, um, I don't see the point really. Just listen to the original!

See, Marcato -- a sentence or two like that, and I'd see where you were coming from!
