So in retrospect, how many of you bought this very limited edition and unknown score? Im looking into the possibility of acquiring this. Sounds like a mini epic score. I did enjoy the suite posted above.

I bought this Intrada release back in 2016 when it came out, good Maurice Jarre scores are always welcome. I have not yet actually listened to it though.

You mean it’s still sealed? I just got SHOGAN 3CD set so Iam kinda intrigued by this title.

I didn't care much for Jarre when this was released, but after enjoying Intrada's 3CD release of Shogun I started hunting down other Jarre scores with Asian flavor. I eventually was lucky to get a used copy at the original retail price and it turned out to be one of my favourite scores of his.

There.taken the bait on this and looking forward to my copy!

No, it's not sealed, I opened it. And the reason I have not yet listened to it is not disinterest. I always have some film scores around that I have not yet listened to. (Like I always have books in my shelf that I have not yet read.) Like John William's BLACK SUNDAY, Jerry Fielding's THE KILLER ELITE. Now and then, I feel like "hey, I will listen to this now" and then I listen to a new album I have not listened before.

I got the SHOGUN 3CD set too, it's one of my favorite Jarre scores. Great stuff.

Oh I know what you mean. I have tons of unopened cds. Over 140+. I just need, time and tranquility to enjoy them.

Cool. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please share your thoughts when you had the chance to listen to it.

Just listened to it; it's a wonderul score, very well recorded. Definitely worth getting.

I, for one, am delighted. Even though I'm not a huge Jarre fan. (Generally, I find him hopelessly repetitive - as did his wife - ha! She once made a comment to that effect in an article in a Toronto newspaper when he was here recording! His penchant is to turn any era, genre into a French parade ground march. Come on, you know THAT melody! You've heard it enough.) Still, when he's 'on', he's ON. And in the present dearth of golden and silver age releases I'll definitely give it a shot.

I got my The Setting Sun a couple of hours ago…it sounds like 100% Maurice Jarre. Weaves in and out and has all the trademarks of Jarre! As I said before, I never even heard of this movie, or even listened to The Setting Sun. Jarre loves writing Marches.

It was recorded at Royce Hall by Shawn Murphy. So that’s good news.

I totally agree. I love Jarre and this was one of the scores I was not too familiar with, so glad I picked it up.

I managed to secure a sealed copy which just arrived today. SAE fortunately was running a 20% discount on their Rare & Used so I jumped on it. So not bad $32 which is just $12 over the original price. I think SAE had unsealed one too! But its sold out now!

I love this score, which now becomes the recognition it deserves. A real masterpiece!
