I noticed that there are a lot of discussions on Holy Grails on the board. I just wanted to draw some attention to some animated series, with hopes that we see more releases in the coming years.

For me:

1. The Real Ghostbusters, Sony Pictures TV - Shuki Levy
2. X-men The Animated Series, Fox Kids/Buena Vista - Shuki Levy/Ron Wasserman
3. Fantastic Four 1994/1995, Genesis Ent. Marvel Ent. Buena Vista - Giorgio Moroder and William Anderson
4. Silver Surfer 1997. Marvel Ent. Fox Kids, Buena Vista - Shuki Levy
5. Reboot - Bob Buckley
6. Sailor Moon, DiC, Bob Summers
7. Super Mario Bros. Super Show/The Legend of Zelda, DiC - Shuki Levy
8. Gargoyles - Disney, Carl Johnson
9. Transformers - Johnny Douglas & Robert J. Walsh
10. Spiderman Animated Series 1994 Marvel Ent. Fox Kids, Buena Vista - Shuki Levy, Udi Urpaz

and lastly bonus cuddly animal scores to:

Fluppy Dogs, Disney 1986 - Shirley Walker
Santabear's High Flying Adventure 1986 - Felix Cavaliere

I'd love to have a legit, expanded release of Christopher L. Stone's Tale Spin.

These are the ones I'd buy:

1. The Real Ghostbusters
2. G.I. Joe
3. Thundercats
4. Ducktales
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I'm not familiar with Transformers but if it's close to GI Joe, I might be interested. X-Men has a nice theme but I found the underscore quite difficult to sit through. Perhaps same with TMNT, but that has at least some recurring riffs and motifs I like. Maybe also even Teddy Ruxpin and Inspector Gadget.

In no special order:

1. "Ducktales" (on a related note, the David Newman film score, too)

2. "The Simpsons"

3. "Family Guy"

4. "Samurai Jack" (I remember asking once and MV replied that the rights holder [I think he said Adult Swim] was not interested; that was years ago and I seriously hope they might have changed their mind by now)

5. "The Real Ghostbusters"

6. "Thundercats" (the original series; but it's been so long since I've seen an episode I can't recall much now -- I shall have to rectify that)

7. "Justice League"/"Justice League Unlimited" (though MV said that'll come eventually)

8. "Futurama" (but MV said all good thigns come to those who wait, last year, so...)

9. ""

10. ""

That's all I could think of. I've left the other blank incase I remember something.

Thanks to MV, I no longer have to say "Batman: The Animated Series".

I'll also keep my Report Abuse finger ready, since we all have a pretty good idea of where this thread will go eventually...

Maybe also even Teddy Ruxpin and Inspector Gadget.

I'd forgotten about Teddy Ruxpin - great music.

The 30th Anniversary release of Inspector Gadget is very reasonably priced and has a great selection of the music from the series. I recommend it! You can get it new for some re-sellers on Amazon for close to $10, a serious deal.

In no special order:

"Family Guy"

"Samurai Jack" (I remember asking once and MV replied that the rights holder [I think he said Adult Swim] was not interested; that was years ago and I seriously hope they might have changed their mind by now)

"Thundercats" endquote]

All of these scores are fantastic - I love Newman's work on The Treasure of the Lost Lamp - such a great adventure score. I have all of the Duck Tales tracks that Ron Jones has released, and they are also fantastic.

For Simpsons I'm still surprised that there hasn't been a decent score release, Family Guy has very memorable score music, and I love Thundercat's main theme - so it'd also be a must own if released. As for Samurai Jack - it's another one I'd forgotten about and I loved the music from the series. There are some fan ripped samples on YouTube which have thousands of listens - it's great.

Samurai Jack would be awesome. Love the music in the pilot/movie.

I'm very grateful that I don't have to list Batman or Superman here, and I'm confident that LLL will get around to releasing the remaining unreleased scores for both series. That leaves me with:

1. Gargoyles -- Carl Johnson (a veteran of Batman, having scored the wonderful Grey Ghost episode...he did not do a unique score for every episode of this great series unfortunately -- there was a lot of tracking -- but what he did write and record was very powerful orchestral stuff)

2. DuckTales -- I am a huge Ron Jones fan (and yes, I'd love to have David Newman's score for the film as well)

3. TaleSpin -- Christopher L. Stone, another great underrated composer

4. Tiny Toon Adventures -- Bruce Broughton, Richard Stone, William Ross, Fred Steiner, Don Davis, Steve Bramson, Mort Stevens, Joel McNeely, Arthur Rubinstein, Hummie Mann, and John Debney all worked on this, and even Laurence Rosenthal did an episode!!

5. Animaniacs -- Richard Stone, Steven Bernstein, and Carl Johnson did the bulk of these. Sign me up, LLL!

These are all I'll say for now, since apparently discussion of a certain show is forbidden, even though I do think it has excellent music!

Yavar

I'm going to add Star Trek: TAS.

But yes, Samurai Jack was terrific. I also wouldn't mind Korra.

The two shows shared the same music library.

Having grown up watching cartoons (and to this day, I watch them still, so you could certainly argue that I have yet to grow up), this is a neat little thread. I'll do my best to limit to 10:

Animaniacs (Richard Stone)
Dave the Barbarian (Shawn Patterson)
Doug (Dan Sawyer and Fred Newman; before anyone asks, no relation)
DuckTales (Ron Jones)
Eek! the Cat (Nathan Wang)
Futurama (Christopher Tyng)
Galaxy High (Don Felder)
Garfield and Friends (Ed Bogas and Desiree Goyette)
Kim Possible (Adam Berry)
Xiaolin Showdown (Kevin Manthei)

1) Ducktales (Ron Jones)
2) Thundercats (Bernard Hoffer)
3) Spiderman and his amazing friends (Johnny Douglas)
4) Pink Panther
5) Smurfs

Can't think of anything else right now..
