Hey there fellow FSMers, after years of hard work, my first book has finally been published! Got the idea from Accidental Genius to make a thread about it. Thank you sir.

Here is the synopsis to the book -

"Left for dead by his own government, Danny Richmond struggles to hang onto the man he once was. The world is on the verge of an all-out war due to political unrest caused by the treacherous Xing Terrorist Empire. Torn by his morals, Danny must decide whether to embrace a life of prosperity or sacrifice it all for the lives of the innocent once again. His desire to save the world is matched only by his longing to finally hold Vanessa Rodes in his arms. Not only is she his long time best friend and CIA counterpart, she is his unclaimed soul mate."

As far back as I can remember I've always had this dream that I would one day grow up to do something amazing and game changing on a mass level. My mom has home video footage of me playing with a toy guitar acting like I'm on stage in front of a huge crowd. I've always had a huge imagination and now, at the age of 25, I can say I am making real steps towards my life long dream. The Barnes and Noble in my local area is already carrying a copies and I am going to others to see if they will do the same.

Here is the amazon.com link to it -

Let me know what you guys think! Any support would be great!

Congratulations, Peter!
Your book sounds very exciting, and I wish you all of the success that you've dreamed about!
My first book was published a year ago, and now I'm working on number two. It is a wonderful thing to realize, and I'm certain you'll make the most of it!
Carry on!

Whom do you imagine scoring the movie version?

Excellent question, Sigerson!
Here's another one, along the same lines:
…and who would you choose to portray Danny & Vanessa?

Thanks guys!!!

And the person I imagine scoring my movie? Unfortunately, he's passed, but I think Michael Kamen would be the first choice. He would be able to capture the action stories along with the all the characters flaws. Even the heroes in my book are somewhat flawed. Good guys sometimes do bad things if pushed over the edge and bad guys sometimes do good things.

But as for living composer? Thomas Newman popped in my head, so we'll go with him. For some reason I can picture him doing a heroic action score with a constant theme building throughout.

Or Nick Glennie-Smith. His work on The Rock, HOLY COW. I LOVE that score. So really, above all else, him.

Thanks Josh! Had I entered the FSM gift exchange, would my book have been eligible as a gift? Haha.

By the way Christopher, I would choose James Caviezel and a younger Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky from Full House)!

" I would choose James Caviezel and a younger Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky from Full House)!"

I'm not familiar with Lori at all, but Mr. Caviezel is an excellent choice, so I'm certain Lori is as well.
I hope he likes the script!

Mighty mazeltov to you, Peter!

As Charles Laughton told first-time novelist Davis Grubb, "Welcome to the aristocracy of the arts!" (That line was quoted in my own first book, so I know how good you must be feeling.)

Cheers,

Preston

Well done on getting your book published. Just writing it is a feat in itself. How long did the whole thing take once you started putting your ideas down? And are you a 9 to 5 writer like Stephen King? Or a midnight oil burner? (I'm always interested in different processes and approaches people take).

Maybe we should start a new thread called FSM AUTHOR'S CORNER, where we could discuss our writing together?

GOOD IDEA?
BAD IDEA?

A modest article or three in magazines pertinent to my job. Hardly novels, although I did make most of it up!

Congratulations Peter - a great achievement!
