So this should be exciting ... a sequel to the score that put Giacchino on the map ... but I also wonder if this might be a good time for La-La Land (or somebody) to come out with a release of the music for the PS2 games THE INCREDIBLES and RISE OF THE UNDERMINER (the latter co-written with Chris Tilton, I believe); fun, jazzy game scores, very much true to the original movie, and not available in a legit format.

Though The Incredibles was his first feature film score, surely his Medal of Honor scores put him on the map?

I completely agree with you! I would definitely buy these, and LLL has released both Giacchino and Tilton game scores before.

I guess I was talking about my own personal map ... not being much of a FPS gamer, I had no idea of what he had written for MOH, but I'm pretty sure I had played JURASSIC PARK: THE LOST WORLD. Just never made the connection that this was the same guy. But I do remember being blown away by the INCREDIBLES, how it was homage and yet fresh at the same time.
Brad Bird has been quoted that he's not opposed to sequels but didn't really have a story he wanted to tell. In the meantime he did Ratatouille, switched to live action and did Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Tomorrowland. Guess it took that long to think up a story he wanted to do.

Thanks. The movie seemed huge from my perspective at the time. I would have figured studio brass would have tried to force a sequel, whether the creatives liked it or not.
This new Episode included stuffs not developed on the first one plus something of new ideas.. hope will smash the box office and critics..Bird is great, however I have the first one Soundtrack , amazing

Pixar does have some creative autonomy.
Also, as big as "The Incredibles" was, sequels to "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo," and "Monsters Inc." (all higher grossers adjusting for inflation) and "Cars" (slightly lower box office, but huge in toy sales) were higher priorities for Disney.

Goes to show you what I know. I've never even seen the film, but I've heard it would be right up my alley.
I had the displeasure of seeing large parts of the first "Cars" film, and parts of another, as well as CinemaSins sin videos on all three. This is kids stuff with a few adult jokes thrown in so parents don't go fully comatose.
Mind you it's not kiddy fare of yesteryear, but still.
Very excited for this Fantastic Four* sequel and the score.
*Many folks, myself included feel that the Incredibles is the best Fantastic Four film to date. It's all about family, and I'm hoping for more od the same storywise, and in the music.

I love CinemaSins. He does know his film music, giving a sin for Zimmer's score in BvS, taking sins when Morricone's name appears in the The Hateful Eight or pointing out that Giacchino is probably the busiest man in Hollywood in the Bee Movie. He's also indicated that he's a fan of William's music in a number of different ways throughout his videos.
