I have the 2 LP set of the London Cast recording of Man of La Mancha. I don't think it has been released on cd. Michelle also appeared in at least one of the BBC/PBS Gilbert and Sullivan productions (Ruddigore which also featured Vincent Price as Michell's younger brother.) At the time Ruddigore aired he was starring in the original run of La Cage Aux Folles. He also starred in a London production of On The Twentieth Century. I also believe he had a recurring part on Murder She Wrote. He will be missed.

I don’t have the London cast of “Man of La Mancha”, but I did see him in that show. He was really excellent and in fine voice.
High time someone released that one on CD? Kritzerland, maybe ??
I also saw him in the 1980’s production of “Crucifer of Blood” (at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket) in which he played Sherlock Holmes. This was a slightly tongue in cheek romp and Keith had great fun as the Baker Street sleuth. Denis Lill was his Watson and Susan Hampshire the lady in distress.
Strange really. Michell was one of those impressive 1960s/70s actors, like Ron Moody, who always seemed about to hit big. But it's only decades later that you realise they didn't really. Henry 8 and Fagin.... the rest permanently pending.
I can think of a few contemporary actors today who might be doing likewise. Sheesh... who'd be an actor? Then again, you don't have to be BIG to have a rich and fulfilling life.
