Tony Renaud does have a very high ratio of trollish comments. Admittedly sometimes I can't quite tell if he's truly being an ass or if sarcastic nuance is being lost in translation.

I'm gonna have to go with option #1, myself. There've been far too many rude, obnoxious, and downright insulting comments from him for it to be anything else. He's a malcontent, pure and simple.

Anyway, I'll definitely be picking up Airplane 2. It's been years since I've seen it (maybe I'll pick it up on Blu-Ray, though), but it's a fun movie and score.

As I said elsewhere, I only had the sequel on VHS growing up, so I'm more familiar with the adaptations of Bernstein's themes than the originals.

I'm all over AIRPLANE II.

wow just wow all the statements in this thread I could respond too but i wont because i'm leaving and not buying another soundtrack release again ....especially when I never get noticed and when labels play favorites with customers even though i have shelled out a lot to you labels.

I think I will save my money in stead of supporting your business when I got unnoticed.

Blimey.
Lately there haven't been many titles I've been interested in, guess what... I've just not bought them. Never even crossed my mind to comment on each thread stating such. I really don't need to buy each title, nor do I expect labels to cater only to my tastes.

Anyway.... Always have time for an Amstrong score, and liking the samples for Victor. Will add to my wish list. But gonna wait to see what LLL and Intrada have in store for us for the end of the year before ordering.

The "Reunited" cue from Victor sounds nice. Might have to check this out. Doesn't actually sound all-too-far removed from what Doyle did for the '94 film...

I ordered Victor Frankenstein from Amazon as soon as it was announced in September, but now it has been removed from the available items, and my copy has not shipped for delivery tomorrow with two other CDs that also come out tomorrow.

Has Amazon's batch just been delayed?

Or will it no longer be available through them?

Frankenstein refuses to die in Hollywood; I sat through all of the classic Frankenstein movies earlier this year (still need to see most of the Hammer ones) and some of the 80s/90s incarnations, but I surely thought that after I, Frankenstein's box office disaster, hollywood would lay the monster and its creator to rest. Yet here they are again, in full force in a trailer that looks to be more "Pirates of the Caribbean/Sherlock Downey Jr" than a horror movie. I wonder how the score holds up in that regard, but it's fascinating.

Please do so. Don't let the door hit you on your way out, jackass.

Good, that's two extra copies for somebody who would have eventually said, "Man, I wanted both these titles, but they sold out before I could get them."

More for us. The appreciative.

I'm actually fonder of Airplane II than Airplane, because:
-Cute use of Battlestar Galactica Theme.
-Wonderful exchange with Julie Haggerty and Judge Perry Mason - "Your honor, have you ever laughed like that?" "Yes, yes I have."
-"Over Macho Grande?" "No, I guess I'll never get over Macho Grande."
-Best. William. Shatner. Cameo. Ever.
-And it's in space! Stupid in space!

But I didn't think seriously about buying the soundtrack when I saw it announced. Just not much fond of comedy soundtracks.

But given my fondness for the movie, and how I keep staring at that goofy, adorable cover art, plus I missed the original Airplane release, and this serves as a nice summary - this darn thing must be mine indeed!

(P.S. Plus, this is really expert arrangement and interpolation of very different pieces of music, so the result sounds musical not just mickey-mousy. Just listen to the terrific opening mashup of Ride of the Valkyries and BSG - it's ideal.)

That's the Flying Dutchman in the opening not the Valkyries. smile

Very minor titles,i pass and will buy major titles like jaws 1&2.

And you felt the need to post this why?

Just to be a jerk?

Ford A. Thaxton

Ford, you REALLY need to learn to be less obnoxious! People who say something is not so great have equally the right to express their thoughts as the fanboys who like everything, however minor. And "minor" is truly the word for Airplane II. Although, come to think of it, "negligible" might come even closer. This is as far from an essential purchase as releases could possibly get.
