I suppose it doesn't really matter whether this is a tongue-in-cheek broadcast or serious propaganda. O'Keefe is clearly an amoral nutter who can't miss an opportunity.

It's an indescribable mystery that anyone could ever imagine that the Prophet (PBUH) might in any way consider welcoming to Paradise those who murder routinely unarmed men, women and children. Only to fools and tools. Of course the real motivation is envy of the west ... by people whose whole outlook PRECLUDES self-awareness anyhow. No. Many of the attackers lived in the west and were born in the west. Of what were they envious? Well, it's a debatable point whether this is apt exploration on a thread primarily consolatory in intent, but you're jumping the old Dawkins gun a little prematurely. Whether you or I believe in the tenets of Islam or no, it IS amazing that those tenets could be so misunderstood by ISIS. No mainstream Muslims endorse ISIL. So, yes, it is amazing. And their willingness to self-destruct shows they really ARE gullible enough to totally buy the distortion. And the 'born in the west' category isn't precise as you use it. Most western fighters in ISIS are radicalised Muslims who felt disenfranchised. Only a few malcontent nutters are converts. One could say a lot about the strange young Muslim women who eschew western concepts of masculinity to marry bad boys from what they perceive their own mother cultures (though they aren't) but that's sociology and psychology, and too close to straying off the board rules. Don't just give in to the knee jerk.

Boys, best nip this in the bud and both drop the bone, its not the thread to discuss it. You will only succeed in getting it locked if this grows when the thread intent was respect. Agree to disagree.

You are politicizing and demeaning a thread that was meant to share feelings of support and comfort with fellow members. What is wrong with you? I hope this thread does not get locked down. That will only spur you on. But then again that may be the only way to get you to stop. If I gathered it correctly, (Member) is living in Paris. From my point of view (which ultimately doesn't matter as I don't own nor run this board), that alone gives him a different spin on this issue and if he wants to bring attention to the knee-jerk decisions that are being now taken by French and/or European politicians in the wake of this terrible event, I really cannot fault him for that. And to ask "What is wrong with you?" strikes me as quite unfriendly in this context. When I opened this thread, I was aware of the possibility that there might be political aspects to some of the responses. I have seen nothing that would raise my heckles, but again, my heckles don't count here. CK Christian, you opened this thread with "...I hope you are as safe as you can possibly be, and that no part of this calamity befell you or your friends and families.". The comments that followed were of support and condolence. There is a long standing rule here of keeping politics out of threads. I may be wrong but I did not interpret your initial intention of beginning this thread to have it lapse into politics. I stand by my comments and I am sorry if they offend anyone. This was a gross tragedy and we stand with our members who are affected. To politicize it here is wrong and unnecessary. By the way, I am extremely friendly as many members can attest to here. I will say no more about it.
