I guess that's what you get a wookiee for Christmas (when he already owns a comb).

I actually have this in a box somewhere. It's actually worse than you'd think. (And I believe a certain famous 80s singer is in the boys choir?)

*chuckles* I enjoy much of its cheesyness, but of anything to get a 24bit/96khz remastering why on earth was it that!

The upside of this posting, was that I discovered that Kylie is releasing a Xmas album. Fingers crossed this is a return to more actual singing as opposed to the dance stuff she does (which I really don't like)

Very interesting. But I wonder how you can "remaster" something that was digital in the first place??

I am speechless.

I am without speech.

The prequels didn't ruin Star Wars...this album did.

Not if you grew up with it. If you did, it's most certainly the other way around.

Absolutely. This album is a masterpiece. I only wish that with the reissue, we would've gotten the deleted tracks that Anthony Daniels mentioned in an interview last year.

There were deleted tracks? Dang, thats a real shame they didn't add them.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this. I purchased the cassette back in 1980 when it first came out. Picked up the original CD reissue years ago, and just this past summer snapped up a still-sealed copy of the LP. I won't be buying this new edition, but I am happy to see it available once again.

Thanks for the heads up. Can't possibly have worse quality than the sound on the Rhino CD. Might have been a "digital recording" -- at some point -- but whatever source they used wasn't exactly pristine.

Gents, I was joking - which is why a had a wink thing at the start of my post.

I'm all for Star Wars cheesiness. I own most of the Meco Star Wars albums.

I have a vague memory of this album being available in Australia back in the 80's (although that could be my very ordinary memory playing tricks on me) but never picked it up.

So I never grew up with it...and I'm kind of glad I didn't - I find the cover a little creepy for some reason.

I'm happy for all of those people who are happy to see this being released.

And, like I said before, my earlier response was meant in a joking fashion.

We all know the prequels ruined Star Wars. wink
