I didn't know there was to be a sequel. I took my daughter to see the first one and we both pretty much enjoyed it, certainly not as bad as what some people say. I'll look forward to seeing this one as well, and the Elfman score.
Elfman's music for the first was his best fantasy writing in many, many years. The high point of a dismal movie. I look forward to buying this score and otherwise ignoring the sequel entirely!
The first movie had its issues, for sure, but there were plenty of redeeming factors. The prologue, in particular, was wonderful. Elfman's score was obviously one of the best he's done in the last decade.
Judging by the trailer, this doesn't look too promising either. Gaudy CGI hell deluxe! But I'm confident we'll get another brilliant Elfman score out of it.
AIWL was a gawd awful movie. Only saving grace was Wasikowska's understated charm, and Eflman's score, which was his best in decades. Regardless if it was temped from Lord of the Rings. Have high hopes for this score as well.
I'll chime in too -- Alice in Wonderland was the best Elfman score in years. It's too bad the film itself couldn't have more of his "Greek chorus" conception. Would've been cool.

What? Don't tell me that! Don't ruin what we have! OK, tell me. Just get it over with. Tell me.
LOL. I forget which cues, I mentioned this before when I heard it. Some cues are most certainly tracked from LOTR's, and one or two sections are a complete lift.

.
Everyone seems to agree the score was great, but only Thor and meself are wise enuf to see the many good things about the film itself bruce
ps the only 'bad' thing about ALICE was the needlessly protracted and unoriginal "climactic battle"
I don't think I could sit through that film. I remember the last one being bearable, mainly thanks to Elfman's score. I think I would go as mad as a hatter having to endure that. I'm sure Elfman and his army of co-composers will deliver a score just (as generic) like Goosebumps and Epic and Peabody.
I find Elfman's growing reliance on additional composers quite disappointing too. At least when Varese releases his scores their contributions are singled out (Hellboy II, Wolfman and Real Steel).
So far Chris Bacon and T.J. Lindgren are listed for Alice Through The Looking Glass.
