Does anyone know why that CD is so hard to get? Screen Archives doesn`t have it, neither does Amazon Germany. The only place that sells it seems to be Amazon US.

As Peter Kelly said, "It looks like the physical CD is an exclusive to one store...". Try moviemusic:

I did (thanks, Peter!) smile

I live in UK. Amazon UK has it on download but no physical copies, not even imports.

I've ordered a copy from Amazon US and had it sent to my brother's address near Pittsburgh. Will collect when I attend a family wedding at the end of the month.

I would think Amazon US would ship anywhere though.

I'm in the US and have ordered countless times from Amazon UK, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, all with no problems.

I noticed the same thing with the recent Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. release. It turns out that both are Hollywood Records releases and are only available from Amazon.com for around $14.

Yikes! Shipping a CD from Amazon.co.uk to the US is not nearly as much. That's too bad.

Is it due to UK government import charges/duty? We don't have those in the US, but many countries do.

I don`t know. I`m living in Germany and I`ve also ordered the CD through Amazon US and also paid $ 20 for shipping.

Yep, getting pretty tired of these Disney/Amazon exclusives. On principle alone, I refuse to buy the S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 Blu-ray set or the AGENT CARTER Blu-ray set. And now I know why the S.H.I.E.L.D. and BRIDGE OF SPIES soundtracks aren't available anywhere else. Such nonsense!

That's weird... I have been ordering CDs from amazon A LOT recently... and usually the first CD is roughly 7 USD.. two for about 9... and I live in Czech Republic...
are you using the slowest/cheapest shipping method or some faster and more expensive, perhaps?

If you buy CD's in the 'used' bin at Amazon, shipping outside the US is set to $15 for all vendors. So even if you find a bargain there, with the shipping, it's certainly not anymore. In fact, the shipping is often twice as expensive as the CD itself.

it's quite weird... how variable these second hand shipping prices are. if I remember correctly:

Amazon US 15 USD
Amazon IT 10 EUR
Amazon DE 6 EUR
Amazon FR 3,4 EUR
Amazon UK 1,9 GBP

anyway, this soundtrack is only available in AMAZON USA, and I wont pay the same amount for the shipping than for the CD.

I ordered my copy on Amazon.com and had it shipped to Germany, but shipping to Germany for 1 CD is $6.49 and not $20, so my total comes to $21,27 which is OK... better get it now before it vanishes... and without Colosseum in Germany I will have to order all my regular future Varèse CDs through the US ... :-(

Yeah, that's the shipping rate if you buy from the "regular store". It's more reasonable, but it's only rarely that you find CD's cheaply here. So usually, you have this choice: Buy CD at expensive price and pay reasonable shipping, or buy CD at used price and pay an enormous shipping fee.

In Germany, the import duty is calculated upon arrival and has to be paid at the post office when collecting your parcel, so it doesn't show up on the Amazon bill. There are also import duties in the US, but the general threshold below which all goods are exempt is much higher than in Europe (I read 200 USD), so most of the time it doesn't register.

I didn't know the shipping rates were that different. But they're probably calculated from a combination of the actual rates and what the customers are willing to pay.

But CD-R. Amazon's product description makes no mention of it being MOD. Anyone know who has received it directly from Amazon if it's a burned CD or silver-pressed?

In Germany you can obtain a regular pressed copy from Chris' Soundtrack Corner for €28. That's what I did. Took a long time to show up but here it is.
