They didn't make a Dragon's Lair movie because they couldn't find the backing, not because Don went back into "theater". Kinda sounds like what an actor says when they can't get movie roles anymore.

That said I wish them all the luck in the world. Not sure how doing a demo is going to convince investors to put up $70 million for a motion picture. As illustrated on their site they have over 35 years of demos in the way of completed work. Not sure another "demo" is going to make a difference.

I just recently watched NIMH - mainly to hear the score - and I was bored to tears.
Sorry, but that's just how I feel

I was so obsessed with playing Dragon's Lair and later Space Ace at the arcade I actually spent my gas money on the game, and didn't have enough gas in my car to get home one time.

It had it's limitations. You could only do what the animation allowed you to do. It was more a memory game (what move do I make when) then down to timing.

But I'm an animation geek. I loved the animation, backgrounds, and soundtrack, the sense I was playing a mini movie opposed to pushing pixels around with tiny midi sounds.

The format probably wasn't what gamer's wanted, thus the novelty of the laser disc game faded. It was a huge hit at the time though.

And it's been canceled and will be moving to Indiegogo in December. Personally, I think Bluth should have used Indiegogo from the start so that even if he didn't reach the goal, he would still get the funds.

To our loyal backers,

Today, we are canceling our crowdfunding campaign. Ah, but Dirk and Daphne are not done yet! We'll all be back in action on Tuesday, December 1st with a stronger, more valiant campaign we modeled after many of your suggestions.

So stay tooned by heading over to Indiegogo and adding your email address to our page, and you will be the very first ones we tell once we launch out on our newest adventure!

Until then, may you and yours have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Don and Gary

I honestly thought the Critic had just Photoshopped a still image of Bluth into the video at first, because he was so damn still. I was delighted when he actually started talking. big grin

Me too! I first thought Don send him a picture via email and he just plugged it in. Then he started to move and talk. Brilliantly set up!
