MONDAY, OCTOBER 26 THE WALKING DEAD---spoiler alert (see below). SHERLOCK---trailer released for the 90-minute, Victorian era-set Sherlock special which premieres on January 1. Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK7oLSM7g8w FORTUNATELY, THE MILK---Johnny Depp is in negotiations to star in 20th Century Fox movie underway based on the children's book. Edgar Wright (SHAUN OF THE DEAD) will direct the movie with a script by Bret McKenzie (FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS). JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS---the movie's opening weekend earned only $1.2 million which gave it the dubious honor of being the worst opening ever for a major studio movie released in 2,000 or more theaters. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA---Kurt Russell commented on Dwayne Johnson's remake of the 1986 cult classic John Carpenter movie, "Dwayne Johnson I don't know what his take on it is gonna be, I don't know what they're gonna do. I always look at those movies when I see a remake and it's like, 'Ok… there's gotta be a reason' I did one with John [Carpenter], we did the remake of THE THING. But John didn't want to remake the original movie, he wanted to remake WHO GOES THERE?...Which had never been made, which was the short story. So ours is in fact quite different that the original THING and it was a horrific monster laughs] and it took a long time for that movie to kind of gain it's appreciation but through the years it's been nice to watch that happen with that movie, it's now considered one of the great horror movies ever made and I'm very proud to have been a part of that. So with BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA John and I, I know we did something that at that time was –The sensibility of that movie was very different, no movie had been made like that, and virtually you flip-flopped the leading man and the sidekick, you flip-flopped those roles, that had never been done. And a lot of the humor and the style of that movie was brand new for that time and was very much copied after that, so in its way BIG TROUBLE is definitely a cult film. So I don't know what their reasons are for remaking the movie but I hope that they have the right reasons and I hope that they do it well and good luck, what can I say? I don't know, I don't have thoughts other than that. Hang in there, good luck, go get em'." THE RAID---the future of the US remake of the 2011 Indonesian movie is in doubt after Taylor Kitsch, director Patrick Hughes and studio distributor Screen Gems left the project HIGH LIFE---Robert Pattinson and Mia Goth star in this sci fi movie about criminals who participate in an outer space experiment involving human reproduction, but the experiment goes awry when their space ship is caught in a cosmic ray storm. THE GOONIES---Sean Astin commented on the status of the sequel, "... people really want it. And when people want something that bad, it's the job of the studio to deliver." He added, "...I don't know if it's [THE GOONIES] and their kids, or they just do a total reboot. Is it about people later in life rediscovering the magic? I don't know. They have lots of ideas and they've been developing in different ways, but I just don't think they've arrived at what they think the best option is. I wish they'd just break the logjam, because it's so popular..." WONDER WOMAN---a rumor says the movie involves Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor teaming up to stop Ares and Circe from starting World War III. Batman, played by Ben Affleck, will appear in two scenes, and Wonder Woman's invisible jet will be featured briefly. ZOOTOPIA---Walt Disney Animation Studio movie underway set in an animal universe where the police force's first bunny cop teams up with a con artist fox to solve a baffling mystery. Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, JK Simmons, Tommy Chong, Idris Elba and Alan Tudyk star. SUPER TROOPERS 2---the sequel is underway with Erik Stolhanske, Kevin Heffernan and Jay Chandraserkhar returning. * * * * * * * * THE WALKING DEAD---showrunner Scott Gimple commented on Glenn's apparent death in the latest episode, “Dear fans of The Walking Dead, this is a hard story to tell...I knew we should say something about it lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say. So I’ll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story.” Also, a recent photo taken on the set shows Steven Yeun playing Glenn and other cast members filming a future episode.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! Best Guess: The Body of the other guy fell on top of GLENN and that is what we saw getting torn apart by the walkers. He either crawled under the dumpster or started under the body until the walker were distracted and left. Just a guess mind you, but it makes a lot of sense. Ford A. Thaxton

I suppose if they do, then the studios will reluctantly have to re-make it, even though they hate remaking movies

I suppose if they do, then the studios will reluctantly have to re-make it, even though they hate remaking movies I think people want it in as far as the level of nostalgia for the film is enormous and Hollywood likes easy cash grabs (aka reboots, reimagining, etc) instead of spending money creating new properties.

Walking dead SPOILER dont read What he said... Best Guess: The Body of the other guy fell on top of GLENN and that is what we saw getting torn apart by the walkers. The origins of the entrails were deliberately out of shot - therefore definitely what ford said. Im sure hiding under the dumpster comes into it or - as ford says - a distraction or something driving over them does the trick!! Brilliant thrill ride every episode. I also like the message about how dangerous flaky people are. In the Walking dead world its life or death to some. In a business world, such chocolate melts can cost people jobs!
