MONDAY, OCTOBER 12

FANTASY ISLAND---ABC reboot tv series underway based on its series that starred Ricardo Montalban. The reboot series will be about "a brilliant, dynamic and sexy woman who runs a San Francisco–based company that provides clients with their most intimate, dark or outlandish fantasy." Sheldon Turner (UP IN THE AIR, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) is developing the reboot. The original series ran from 1977-1984.





MAD MAX---George Miller said Furiosa (Charlize Theron) probably won't be back for the next sequel, "I’m not sure...She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.”





SKIN TRADE---Cinemax pilot underway based on the George RR Martin novella about a werewolf collection agent who teams up with his friend, a private investigator, to solve a series of bloody murders.

AMERICAN GOTHIC---CBS ordered 13 episodes of this tv series about a prominent Boston family who discovers its dead patriarch committed numerous murders over the decades and his accomplice may be one of them.

ASCENSION---20th Century Fox sci fi movie underway about a scientist who must save Earth after it loses gravity. Matthew Vaughn (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) is expected to be the director.

STAR WARS---a reliable source said Michael B. Jordan (FANTASTIC FOUR) will play Boba Fett in the spinoff movie featuring the bounty hunter.

INHUMANS---Vin Diesel said he might provide the voice for another Marvel character in addition to Groot, "We've heard a lot of talk about Marvel wanting to have me play a character that doesn't have my voice. So my voice is used for Groot and my presence is used for the other character." Speculation is the other character is Black Bolt in the rumored INHUMANS movie.

FEAR STREET---20th Century Fox movie underway based on the RL Stine novels.

GOTHAM---Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman) will play the Penguin's father.

MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER---new cast additions include Wynn Everett playing Whitney Frost, Lotte Verbeek playing Ana Jarvis, Currie Graham playing Calvin Chadwick and Reggie Austin playing Jason Wilkes.

xXx 3---Vin Diesel said DJ Caruso (DISTURBIA) will direct the sequel.

CRUELLA---Walt Disney Pictures live-action movie underway featuring the villain from 101 DALMATIONS. The script will be written by Kelly Marcel (FIFTY SHADES OF GREY).

BLINDSHOT---NBC ordered a full-season of the series.

TIME BANDITS---Terry Gilliam is developing a tv sries based on his movie, "...We are involved in two possibilities - one, a TV series based on TIME BANDITS, another based on a script by Richard LaGravanese and I wrote after Fisher King, called THE DEFECTIVE DETECTIVE. We're currently adapting a two-hour film into a six-hour series. It's about a middle-aged New York cop who was once a hero who has grown fat and cynical and is in the middle of a breakdown, ending up in a child's fantasy world where the rules of the mean streets of New York no longer apply. The best way to kill a dragon is no longer a gun, but a tree branch you think is a sword."

INTERCEPTOR---movie underway based on the upcoming comic book set in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires in Area 51 plan for travel to outer space.

TIGER & BUNNY---movie underway based on the anime/manga.

The 1998 reboot with Malcolm McDowell was quite good, sadly all too short-lived.

This doesn't seem as much fun based this post, but I'll wait and see what they come up with.

Ha!Ha! They stole this idea from an episode of "King Of Queens" where Doug and Carrie saw a movie called "Floaters". Though such a ridiculous idea was meant as a joke. Guess 20th didn't get the memo.

And it continues to rot (if not collect dust) in Sony's vaults.

They have an on-demand system to put forgotten movies and TV shows on DVD and yet, they won't even touch this. F**king unreal!
