Across his career, Armstrong has been awarded two BAFTAs, two Ivor Novellos, a Golden Globe, an American Film Institute Award, a Grammy and in 2007 an outstanding International Achievement award from BAFTA Scotland. From his base in Glasgow, Craig Armstrong has written for film, classical commissions and solo recordings for the past 26 years. Armstrong’s long-standing collaboration with director, Baz Lurhmann has seen him score for some of the most much-loved films of the last decade including Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge! and most recently, The Great Gatsby, for which he received a Grammy nomination. Other credits include The Quiet American, Ray, Orphans, Oliver Stone’s World Trade Centre, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Armstrong is currently visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London and was awarded an O.B.E for services to the music industry.
