Question one. In the interview, they refer to having no "ex copy" of the audio. What is an "ex copy"? Can't say for sure, but in the context of the discussion, I took it to mean an "extra copy" or an "exact copy."

Question two. There is mention of "Rex is in a hound tooth tet." What the heck is that? Other than Tet, the Vietnamese New Year, there's no such word in the English Language. I think it's an incredible typo for "suit," since "Rex Harrison’s suit" is mentioned two sentences later. The word could have been garbled on the tape from which this interview was transcribed. "It's a shot in Rex Harrison's study with Stanley Holloway standing next to Rex. Rex is in a hound tooth tet and for whatever reason, even in registration the hound's tooth pattern on that single shot just looked a little bit harsh. We tried bringing down the gamma, we tried softening the image, but then I decided to leave it. So there is one shot in the film where Rex Harrison’s suit just looks ever so slightly different than every other shot."

I do proofreading as a sideline. Do you think they might want to hire me? Well, it never hurts to ask.

I guess the one (futile?) question I always wonder whenever these restorations are done: Any new materials located, such as . . . say . . . the original recording session tapes, for instance? (--And how about "West Side Story," "Oliver," etc.)
