I don't know if you've caught this news already (it's been shared on Facebook quite a bit), but John Carpenter is apparently holding his first live concert ever -- on Iceland!

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/09/john-carpenter-will-perform-his-iconic-film-soundtracks-live-for-the-first-time/

Wish I could go, but alas, I don't think I could afford it. The tickets are expensive, and most of them seem to be sold out already.

Wow!

I had no idea he never had played live before.

You never know. Once these reclusive film composers get their first taste of the concert scene, they're bound to expand the experience. We've seen it with Horner, Elfman, Zimmer in recent years. Maybe Carpenter too, although I have no idea about his health situation. He looks a bit sickly in some of the recent interviews.

Morricone was a latecomer as well - he gave his first concert when he was 56; it's over 250 concerts under his belt now.

Carpenter does look more frail than usual in his recent interviews, this started around 2010.

He's been looking like a defecated husk since like '97.

It's just the way he looks.

Too bad he's not coming to Toronto...
