UNNATURAL offered composer Edwin Wendler (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE III: VENGEANCE IS MINE, TALES OF HALLOWEEN) a chance to create “a chilling trip to some dark, musical places, with the most aggressive music I have ever written.”

Written by Ron Carlson & Arch Stanton, directed by Hank Braxtan and produced by Ron Carlson, UNNATURAL preys on our fear of the unknown. The film stars James Remar (DEXTER), Sherilyn Fenn (RUDE AWAKENING), Graham Greene (THE GREEN MILE), Stephanie Hodes (LIFE BLOOD), Q’orianka Kilcher (THE NEW WORLD), Ivana Korab (IF YOU ONLY KNEW), Ray Wise (ROBOCOP), and Allegra Carpenter (THE FAULT IN OUR STARS).

Cool -- his first time on Varese, right? Congrats to Edwin!

Neat cover. What's the score like? (For my personal tastes, what degree of thematic, and what degree of orchestral?)

I have his Wrong Hollywood Number and I rather like it.

Yavar, yes it is his FIRST time on Varese Sarabande Records! So so exciting for someone who like us has been a fan of Varese and all the labels for decades and owns most of their releases.

+1 ..what's the composer's style?
..and yes , both the cd cover and the movie look very cool!
The trailer is above average interesting: thankfully the movie looks well done enough, and there seems to be a sort of "genetic engineering" background to the beast, it's not just a bear gone crazy thing

In it you can hear some tense piano-strings music somenwhat reminiscent of Christopher Young, but I don't know if it is from the actual score, it could be just temp.

I wasn't aware of this film, but always interested in checking out a horror film and score.

Out digitally Oct. 16th. Limited CD will be forthcoming.

Looking forward to hearing samples. Presumably the CD is going to be in the next "limited edition" batch? There's been a few good titles in these batches, hopefully releasing them in this manner is bringing a bit more attention to them instead of them just slipping under the radar as separate releases.

I'm unfamiliar with the name Ray Wise, so I just checked to see who he was and chuckled when I saw that I watched him in Infestation last night, and was thinking at the time how he bears quite a resemblance to my handy-man!

Ray Wise was also the father in JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN in 1985 with a score by James Horner. He was also in TWIN PEAKS. Really good actor actually.

I thought this thread was going to be about a zombie baseball player.

I haven't seen either of those two titles you mentioned, but have seen him in other things. Good actor, instantly recognisable when I see him, but not someone whose name I knew.

And he has an recurring role as a bad guy on the daytime soap The Young & The Restless.

Don't ask me how I know that.
