I got a notice of this new CD by Dominik Hauser, who is basically a guy who does recreations of film music on synthesizer. Often, he does some pretty good stuff using really great-sounding synths.
I have nothing against HIM, but I really have a long-running gripe against anyone bringing out Christmas stuff so frickin' early in the year. It used to be that you never saw Christmas ads or saw Christmas items in stores until after Thanksgiving. Then it moved up to Hallowe'en… BUT, BEFORE LABOR DAY? REALLY?
I know this is really a non-film music gripe, but I had to post it anyway. Even if I DID want this Christmas release, I wouldn’t buy it NOW. Where I live, we’re still grilling burgers and sweating in the 90 degree heat. Christmas seems a million miles away. Leave me alone and don't push Christmas upon me two months ahead of time.
