BT (Brian Transeau) is a leading Electronic Dance Music (EDM) composer, film and video game composer, and technologist. He along with some help from Video Games Live creator Tommy Tallarico successfully kickstarted an album and concert of his music recreated with a live symphony orchestra. The orchestra segments for the album were recorded in the Czech Republic by the world renowned City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the exceptionally talented Eimear Noone.

Yeah, I heard about this. I'm generally skeptical about recreating unique electronic sounds by an orchestra -- it's usually hit or miss -- but I'm going to give it a chance. After all, several of BT's compositions already have an orchestral element.

If the video is anything to go by, I think it's going to sound amazing. BT hinted in his latest video of an additional announcement on the release date which I'm hoping is either Blu-ray release or a tour.

Some of the music from his score to Monster has also been included in the Opus.

It was not recorded with the Czech Phil...but with the award winning, world renowned City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra at Smecky Studios with musicians hand picked by Tadlow Music!

This goes back to the Jarre album you made, James. Some great renditions there, but also some that didn't work so well (it often comes down to using a drum kit, which makes it border too closely on the "LSO Plays Classic Rock"-type albums from the 80s and 90s). But I supported that album with all my heart, and still do. And I'm getting high hopes for this as well.

Many thanks...now just need to check that record label has credited the right band?

You can now hear a preview of this on Soundcloud, and the orchestra sounds absolutely wonderful!

Received my digital copy today and boy, it does not disappoint! It's even better than I imagined it to be. If you're a fan of BT definitely check it out.

I have been listening to it and love it - some tracks stand out more than others. I think "These Silent Hearts" is my favorite, followed up by "Love Comes Again". But I think I've going to have to give the album a few more listens through.

Yeah, "These Silent Hearts" is my favorite as well.

Just as Metallica's S&M, I think the faster tracks make more of an impression than the quiet ones. But overall it really is a great album

If anyone is interested in owning this on CD, you can now order direct from CDBaby. I just got mine yesterday. It's $12.99, and a digi-pak - but a very nice one. And the site now says that there are only a few left...

https://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bt7

The audio quality is far superior to the digital download in my opinion, and the City of Prague Orchestra knocks it out of the park on every track.

If you buy three CDs from them shipping (including international) is only one cent!

Couple suggestions to get to three CDs:
Terminator Genisys
Video Game Orchestra
Ninja Scroll

I just ordered this from CDbaby, and then found out that it was out of stock. Bummer. I can't even delete my order.

I wonder if they will get it back in stock?

I think that they will - it's just that the kickstart backers only just starting receiving their CDs...I got mine before any of those that backed the campaign, or attended the live show. I think they are holding off more until the backers get their reward copies. I'm guessing within the next couple of months, it's a great release - worth the wait.

Yep it's there. Sounds great in 5.1 too. Here's a shot of the menu.
