THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 SPECTRE---poster released for the latest James Bond movie. IT---Cary Fukunaga commented on why he left the New Line movies based on the Stephen King novel, "The main difference was making Pennywise more than just the clown. After thirty years of villains that could read the emotional minds of characters and scare them, trying to find really sadistic and intelligent ways he scares children, and also the children had real lives prior to being scared. And all that character work takes time. It's a slow build, but it's worth it, especially by the second film. But definitely even in the first film, it pays off. It was being rejected. Every little thing was being rejected and asked for changes. Our conversations weren't dramatic. It was just quietly acrimonious. We didn't want to make the same movie." THE HULK---Mark Ruffalo said The Hulk was supposed to return for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, but Marvel Studios changed its mind, "Because he’s still missing, and it’s unknown where he is. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end they evidently believed that the reveal of what happened to the Hulk was too big, and Marvel wants to save that information for later. My character had been in the script, but then he got removed. Who knows, maybe the Hulk will never return. They want to keep the revelation of what happened to him a secret, because it’s something really big." SUPERHERO FATIGUE---Emma Thompson commented on Steven Spielberg's belief that audiences will eventually get tired of superhero movies, "I loved the original Superman with Chris Reeve because there was a real tongue-in-cheek-ness to it, [but] after a while, you do get a tiny bit cynical about it. The fact that I know they're going to win out in the end has now slightly interfered with my continuing to go to those movies. If I see yet another Spider-Man, I'm going to have to actually hang myself." LUKE CAGE---Simone Missick will play Misty Knight on the superhero series. BORN TO BE BLUE---Ethan Hawke stars in this Chet Baker biomovie about Baker attempting a comeback in the 1960s after drug and financial problems. NARCOS---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2. AMERICAN WOLF---Scott Cooper (CRAZY HEART) is in talks to direct this movie about a hunter who accidentally kills an endangered American wolf in Yellowstone National Park and becomes friends with the wildlife researcher who is protecting the wolves. BRAVEN---Jason Momoa stars in this movie about a logger living in the remote mountains along the US/Canadian border who must defend his family from drug smugglers.

I imagine he's drifting from town to town now, rucksack over his shoulder, getting into scrapes here and there, but always managing to right some wrongs before moving on. I hear a plaintive piano refrain. Someone get me a pad and pen!!!
