Sometimes, you just forget how sublime certain film scores are, don't ya!

Yes I do, Kev. That Ennio's a good 'un, but I'll have to play it again to remember how good it really is. That actually happened the other day with BLACK SUNDAY. zooba reminded us that it was great, I put it on again, and he was right!

A good score, I like the main theme a lot (another one of those variations on 'Once Upon A Time In America' perhaps) but most of the rest passes me by to be honest. But it's pleasant enough.

I have the earlier release of this (was it Varese?) so I didn't bother with the new Quartet. Speaking of Quartet, I recently got my copy of their 'Battle Of Algiers'. Never owned it before, only really familiar with the main theme, it's a fine score, liking it a lot.

I love the first 3 tracks, wherein he introduces the Destiny theme, then the Love/Family theme and then the one that sounds like the Last Post.
I even like the dissonant tracks in this score, kinda Casualties Of War-like. I'm usually turned off by Ennio's more atonal stuff, but I can hack it in this one.
It was originally released on Virgin Records, Thomas, when they were whipping out soundtracks like Varese (Willow, Summer Story, Red Heat etc).
ATOD is one of my faves by Ennio(ld Iron). smile

Beautifull score, but the main theme is very, very similiar to the Death Theme in "The Untouchables".

I bought the Quartet edition years ago, but never loaded it up on Apple Music/iTunes.

Thanks to this just brought it upstairs to do so, and grabbed a handful of others that didn't make it.

Like Karol Un Papa Rimasto Uomo (I have both volumes of this mini series about Pope John Paul the Second, but only one uploaded?).

But now I got all distracted listening to A Pure Formality.

Such endless treasures!

Anyway, thanks for mentioning, I'll give it a listen tomorrow.

I just played this long with City of Joy on Monday. Both such lovely scores.
