Yeah, I guess that guy is the layman, but getting super obvious facts like that wrong drives me crazy (in any form of media).

Yeah, I guess that guy is the layman, but getting super obvious facts like that wrong drives me crazy (in any form of media).

I downloaded these podcasts yesterday and have been listening to them on my commute... and was initially planning to come back here and say that the criticisms posted here are overdone, because these podcasts are fun and generally very informative (I sure didn't know that Rozsa's IVANHOE was the temp track for the opening titles of A NEW HOPE - did YOU?).

But after making it through a few podcasts, the personality of the "less informed" Star Wars fan Jimmy Mac really began to grate on me. The actual musician David Collins is, as some have said here, very informed and a great moderator... but Mac... yeesh. I literally don't know if I can finish all of these with his overcooked, overeager, undereducated color commentary.

He's like the guy sitting next to me at the John Williams concert who complains about every piece of music that isn't from STAR WARS.

So I wouldn't necessarily go into a podcast looking for an education, and I wouldn't necessarily hate a podcast for somebody saying a few things wrong.

A lack of the most basic research reflects their care and character.

Flush twice, move on.

Flush twice, move on will become a new catch phrase.

You said it, man. I don't know why, but I'm very dismissive and generally suspicious of the opinions of people whose names I do not recognize from our "community." Like when SiriusXM had the Cinemagic channel on the actual radio, I just shook my head and said, "Whatever, this guy thinks he's Erik Woods or something."

Was there an actual host on Cinemagic? I only listened to it a few times while travelling in the US and can't remember if I heard one.

I just meant "this guy" as in the whole channel. Apparently it's still going, but it's internet-only at this point.

Yeah, its internet only...the reason I never renewed my free XM that came with my car. Once it was gone I only ever listened to my ipod!
