According to one Banks fansite, Banks did two hours of score, writing, and re-writing score cues to please the producers, but that it didn't work out (for anywhere from six months to year, depending on what source you read). Banks was originally consdiered for "The Terminator" as well, but that didn't go anywhere.

I finally tracked down a copy of the A&M CD last year, absolutely love it. I snagged a used copy several years ago, myself. It was years before I realized this is a synth-based score(except the 'New Worlds' track, I guess). Shire's writing here is so gorgeous, and the synth work is brilliant.

Still nothing on this, hey? Can anyone offer any hints as to who may have the ability to release scores from MGM films or A&M records? A&M Records is now controlled by Universal Music Group, with all the attendant difficulties that that entails. As to who has the ability to release material from MGM? -- basically anyone with a pulse. I wonder if this will allow La La Land to have access, seeing as they now have the ability to release older scores from Universal. I know next to nothing regarding how these kinds of rights work out but hopefully this may indeed be the case.

Maybe in 2020 we'll get a 10th anniversary edition?

Maybe in 2020 we'll get a 10th anniversary edition? It's 2020 now. What's the word?

Maybe in 2020 we'll get a 10th anniversary edition? it's highly doubtful that 2010 will happen for the foreseeable future. While the album rights can be licensed for a reissue, getting additional tracks means getting them cleared by WB, which at this time doesn't see very interested in doing that unless you ready to write a 5 figure check at last report. I'd settle for a remastered album at this point Ford A Thaxton

What about a new recording? BSX did Blade Runner a few years back with Edgar Rothermich, would something similar be possible (or viable) with 2010? SG

What about a new recording? BSX did Blade Runner a few years back with Edgar Rothermich, would something similar be possible (or viable) with 2010? SG Not a bad idea if they could be as successful at matching the original sound as they were with Blade Runner. While some of the tracks from that BR release sound a little off, there are others that are wonderful, like Blade Runner Blues. It is usually my preferred go to when listening to that track.
