MONDAY, AUGUST 24

STAR WAR: ROGUE ONE---a source said the late Peter Cushing will be digitally resurrected as Grand Moff Tarkin in ROGUE ONE, "This is one of the most complex and costly CGI re-creations ever. Cushing is a pivotal plot line as he was the one to create Darth Vader and there's a whole back story that will come out."
The problem is that Cushing was wearing slippers during filming in the original STAR WARS and consequently was shot from the knees up. The source said the CGI experts are using Cushing's old movies to recreate his gait, "They are going through hours and hours of old footage from the horror movies to recreate his legs and feet to produce realistic movements. It is eerie to see someone who has been dead for so long come to life on a screen."
ROGUE ONE involves rebels seeking to steal plans to the Death Star and is set between Episodes III and IV.

STAR WARS:THE FORCE AWAKENS---new photo released of villain Kylo Ren.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR---a source said Marisa Tomei filmed a cameo as Aunt May in a scene with the new Spider-Man played by Tom Holland.

SUICIDE SQUAD---Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje released a photo of himself as Croc and Will Smith as Deadshot.

STAR TREK---Patrick Stewart commented on if Captain Jean-Luc Picard will return for any future Trek movie or tv series, "It's possible. I think it's unlikely. But it's possible. The series wrapped over 25 years ago and we've got a rather elderly Captain Picard now. So I don't know. It would be... it could be entertaining."

GAME OF THRONES---Damon Lindelof (LOST) commented on recent fan criticism of the series, "...And despite the fact that George R. R. Martin has flamed the Lost finale, there is a schadenfreude aspect of me saying, "Well, I kind of hope Game of Thrones sucks at the end, too, so they'll know it feels to have somebody say that to you." But I don't think the Lost finale sucks. And I want Game of Thrones to end awesome, because I'm a huge fan, and I have every reason to believe that it is going to end awesomely."
But when you are in the zeitgeist, and when you are loved, there's this part of it - people threaten to stop watching, people say "it's not as good as it used to be," people say, "If you kill this character, I will stop watching the show." One of the things that people fell in love with about Thrones was its willingness to kill anyone - but you can't kill Jon Snow, you know? You can kill anyone - but you can't kill Tyrion. And you can't kill Dany. As long as you don't kill those three. And it's like: "But I thought you loved the show because we killed Ned Stark! He was the un-killable character!" So we have to be willing to do that...
And I see people pushing against Thrones where it's like, literally from week to week, someone will say, "This is the most excellent show, this season is firing on all cylinders, it's never been better." And then because of one story move - Stannis burns his daughter - suddenly [the reaction is] like, "I cannot watch this show anymore. I'm quitting you, Game of Thrones." And I'm thinking: "No, you're not. Don't be an ass." That's like my 8-year-old saying, "We're not best friends anymore..."

LETHAL WEAPON 5---Max Landis (CHRONICLE) commented on his proposal for the fifth movie in the franchise, , "The final 'Lethal Weapon'...is Murtaugh and Riggs are asked to work with a group of...four cops who are younger, who were all involved in an action movie that we didn't see. You hear the report, and it sounds like a 'Lethal Weapon' movie: 'They drove a school bus off of an oil rig?' Then Murtaugh and Riggs are assigned to take them on like an Outward Bound program and try to teach them to be better cops and respect authority."
He added, "Then it turns out the villain from the action movies that we missed is coming to kill them. Murtaugh and Riggs in the woods for the first time in any of the movies, with four characters we really like, do a slasher movie."

xXx---Vin Diesel said the third movie in the franchise will start filming in December.

BLACKADDER---Tony Robinson said the BBC comedy series may return and took a playful shot at fellow cast member Hugh Laurie, "I do think a new series of BLACKADDER is on the cards. I have spoken to virtually all the cast about this now. The only problem is Hugh's fee. He's a huge star now - or so he'd like to think."
