The Opening Credits (1M1) on the Intrada CD run 51 seconds. The David Newman promo has an extended version which is 1:26 long. Also the female choir sounds slightly different.

Since I haven`t seen the film in ages, does anyone know which Version is the film version?

Too bad that Intrada didn`t include both Versions but only the shorter one. Glad I didn`t throw away the promo.

Probably nothing different on the "promo" ... could sound like it's just (a short version of) 1m1 fading with 1m3... !?

No, I`ve compared all three pieces, the 2 cues on the Intrada CD ("Opening Credits" and "Main Title") and the cue "Opening Credits" on the Newman promo. They`re clearly different versions. Probably the director edited the scene and Newman had to either extend or shorten the music. Anyway, Newman definetely composed and recorded 2 different versions of the "Opening Credits". Like I said it would have been nice if Intrada would have included the one not used in the film as an alternate version like they usually do. And I still would like to know which version is the actual film version.

Can you be more specific in what way you mean they're different ? ... To me, it still sounds like 1m1, and from ca. 0:33, the bells/chimes fades with the beginning of 1m3 (with choir). If anything, maybe the choir from the end of 1m1 (starting at ca. 0:36) was not in the mix that was used when the "promo" track was put together ... Regardless, to me anyway, the beginning of "promo" track 1 is 1m1, and the end of it is 1m3 smile
