I talked to John Scott for a story about how his iconic theme to "This Week in Baseball" remains highly popular after nearly 40 years. I thought there might be interest here. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2015-08-04/this-week-in-baseball-theme-music-gathering-crowds-john-scott-composer-twib-mlb

Bumping this in case any John Scott fans missed it. Also, shameless self-promotion.

Cool piece. Thanks.
I'd never heard that music before (being NOT American and totally oblivious to Baseball).
BUT!!!!
I didn't know John Scott scored episodes of DALLAS!!!
Or that he scored the Who Shot J.R. reveal!!! (or is that just wrong data in the news item?).

Wasn't it his library music that was used in Dallas, possibly when there was some sort of strike in Hollywood years ago? I'm sure I read an interview with him where he mentioned this.

Ha! This is so cool. Also vastly indifferent to baseball, so I knew nothing about this at all - I've had that piece of library music for a few years, and just thought it was a kind of silly and lesser-tier Scott composition in a larger repertoire of amazing work.

So funny that "lesser" Scott still musters such a response from people - If only he'd been given a shot at something that could have put his name on the cultural map...
