You guys should see the movie! It's as much fun as the score.

Count me in. I hold it as the most exhilarating score I stumbled across last year. And like others here, I didn't see either the original TV series or the movie! It actually came as a surprise to discover that the music is not only inspired by the sound of the 60's but also by the one of 70's. However it simply works as a terrific sonic experience. The various soloists including the crazy flute player are performing that fresh music in a mesmerizing manner. Thanks for the tip regarding MORDECAI. I will pay a listen to it.

Yeah, the flute player sounds like he's been listening to Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull once or twice!

Heard MORTDECAI, and it didn't do much for me, I'm afraid. It's not on UNCLE's level at all, IMO.

Totally agree about UNCLE, a really great album! I still listen to it often since I picked it up in August.

If you like this, you might enjoy the Soundtrack to Mortdecai, which I bought blind last year at Wonder Con on the recommendation of MV Gerhard. (Thanks, MV!)

It has a very similar vibe to the UNCLE soundtrack.

I got Pemberton's UNCLE album for Christmas and it is fantastic. Wow. What a great throwback to the 60s music. It's a top favrotie from 2015.

I bought in the meantime MORTDECAI and enjoyed it as well but it's true it's not as exciting and fresh as is THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., a truly unique score.
By the way, I've seen yesterday STEVE JOBS and must say the music by Pemberton can hardly be heard in this movie. It's mixed so low that you are virtually not aware there actually is an original score. I noticed mostly a minimalist passage à la Philip Glass and that's it! I really wonder why they hired a composer on this project. A few songs such as the ones that are featured here and there would have fairly made it in my opinion. So the album must be sort of experiencing the music not heard in the movie!

Saw it too and the mix was perfect. Where did you catch it ?

I've seen it at the Gaumont Parnasse. If the sound mix is right, am I then becoming deaf?! Anyway, I felt there is way too much dialogue in this movie and I was relieved when it reached its end. Maybe it explains I wasn't able to hear the music...
