Here is a sample of Georges Auric's Goodbye Again score.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxzuaPKo6xk

When I heard it, I couldn't get over how similar it was to another movie's theme. I found the score to this other movie on my shelf and found no credit given to Auric. Therefore, I think there was some serious plagiarizing going on!

Trivia: What movie am I thinking of?

No idea.

But the theme is based off of the third movement of Brahms's Symphony No. 3

Great ear, Joshua. It sounded familiar but couldn't quite place it.

Ha!

Another composer used that theme too.
The most funny thing is that he also rearranged his own theme from another movie (opening strings and some part of tune). Used it in this one. And later used it one more time in another movie big grin
By the way, I have all three CDs with that theme )))

1st one -

3rd one -

The movie I am thinking of came out in the late 80's. It was a murder mystery.
