I've just read - on Film Score Friday coming soon bit - that this one is forthcoming from Digitmovies?
Any news when, or if it's;
A = The 36 minute download edition
B= The 40+ minute LP edition
C= Something even bigger and better
?

Just listened to it on YouTube. Indeed a cool and easy-going score, although the arrangements aren't always of the same level. As you said, it's very diverse. With its solo bassoon and its overall mood, the Tema di Peppone sounds to me as a straight tribute to the De Angelis Brothers. Seems logical since Terrence Hill is starring in this 80's version.
By the way, I think this film is totally unknown here in France where the older movies starring Fernandel are of course very popular.

Playing my copy of this now, courtesy of DigitSoundtracks/Digitmovies.
Such great memories of blasting the old LP in the days of yore.
The CDR/LP transfer I had did me proud over the years but it's always nice to get a proper 'released by a label' version (even if this is also a vinyl transfer*).
Nice note from Pino inside mentioning how he loves this score and why.
It's a wonderful mixed bag of styles, all of which I love.

*there is some crackle/drop-out in certain tracks

This is not a vinyl rip. This is a master tape transfer courtesy of Carosello Label.
The master tape was not in pristine conditions, but the sound is very good!
Buy it!

Thanks tyuan, my mistake.
The dropouts and slight distortion on some tracks made me think it sounded like an LP transfer (I was listening via earphones).
It shouldn't put anyone off. It's perfectly fine and the music is the main thing, which is quality Donaggio.

Thats actually not the worst song on the album kev lol.
Track 14 im a fool. Arrrgh.
I like track 3 tema di peppone (very ennio-hill flavour) and track 17 nella chiesa

On a pino fix, im loving Corruzione al palazzo di guistizia and some stuff on Passion is nice. And tv movie sissi

"Ring The Bells" directly inspired the theme for my last short film.

Thanks! I was able to afford to record one more orchestral cue too, although it was less Donaggio-influenced...

This is perhaps a bit too eclectic for its own good -- and I had to program out the three annoying kids-in-kindergarten-singing songs, leaving 33 minutes. But some definite highlights throughout -- my favourites are the synth tracks.
