Later this year, Guy Farley will reunite with director Sean Ellis (Cashback, The Broken, Metro Manila) to score his upcoming WW2 thriller ANTHROPOID about the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. The movie just began shooting last week in Prague's Barrandov studios as well as several historical locations all over Prague, where the actual events took place in 1941. The movie will feature international cast including Cillian Murphy, Jamie Dornan, Toby Jones as well as several Czech actors.

Here is video from the press conference about the movie, which was held during Karlovy Vary International Film Festival earlier this month:

I'm super excited for this film. It's a gripping story and this looks like a respectful and accurate version of it.

I'm curious about the virtually identical film HHhH, which will be coming from Weinstein later this year. It's apparently told from the perspective of Heydrich and his wife, which is weird to say the least, especially since the novel wasn't.

There was also a film called Operation Daybreak. I remember seeing this film at the cinemas back in the mid-70s.

Guy Farley ended up having his score rejected. Robin Foster did the final score. Foster is a guitarist and composer, born in Britain, but spent most of his working career in France.

I thought I saw Farley's name in the credits as the pianist -- I'd assumed he was the pianist for Foster's score.

Not rejected... in the end he worked mostly as an arranger of that thing Foster did (I won't call "THAT" a score)... and also composed THE ONLY decent piece in the whole movie... if you heard that thing and managed to survive till the end, you certainly know which one I mean...

Nonsense. Guy never wrote a score for that movie and from day one it was clear that he would work on the music as arranger and "musical assistant", much in the same way he worked on Ellis' METRO MANILA because Ellis' wanted to work with Foster. Guy wrote one piece which is used in the movie.

I think Guy just wrote the choral piece....which they wanted to record in the same church where the commandos hid out...but I checked this out for them as I pass that church nearly every day when I am in Prague and the traffic noise is just "horrendous" ....so not possible. I did try and persuade guy to record the Czech choir at Smecky as such an emotive subject for Czecsh ... but dates didn't work out...so they did it in London.

From what I have seen of the film ... and of course having seen Operation Daybreak ... they have yest to make a decent attempt at filming this dramatic event. Maybe I should have a go?
