At the present time the only way to receive the David Newman conducted album is through the box. That is all the information I have been given at this time.

You and most of the rest of the forum. Do you really think no one else here is the same?

Count me among those who would buy the Newman recording separately but aren't game for the whole shebang.

Same here. A regular jewel case version with Peak's artwork I'd buy immediately.

I am of the similar opinion. So let's have it already.

Thanks for sharing the video, DMD!!

BTW, wasn't the COLOR PURPLE arrangement by Williams with Itzhak Perlman previously issued on this CD:

Replying to my own post from two years back, I'm grateful that Varese eventually released the Newman disc a la carte. I'm spinning it again right now and loving every minute of this sonic time machine. I was 10 years old in 1985, so there's a heavy nostalgia thing going on here for sure (not that there's anything wrong with that), but regardless of which era it came from, this is some beautiful, moving music full of memorable themes, well performed to boot.

Indeed, this is a solid album with a nice package. Love the cover art. I always hoped that Varese would re-record the complete Goldsmith's Legend and use the same artwork. smile
