I've just watched a beautiful "animated" film called "Il Giro Del Mondo Degli Innamorati Di Peynet" (1974) it featured this sublime theme from the Maestro.

I prefer the creepy vocal version interpreted by Demis Roussos used as main theme in L' Ultimo Treno Della Notte.

Yes! It's a good theme for a romantic film but it's simply perfect for a slasher film.

Wasnt quite a chunk of peynet written by alessandroni?
Certainly morricone provided several versions of that deliciously gentle main theme.

You're right Bill, Alessandroni did write most of the score and Ennio composed the main theme "Forse Basta"

One of my favorites! This year for my birthday I am hoping to do a Morricone concert in my back yard (like the Bernstein/Goldsmith last year) and have this performed. IF I can find the sheet music.

IMHO quite possibly the most beautiful piece of music Ennio Morricone as ever composed.

Good luck, I hope you find the sheet music !
