I find the whole sanitizing mentally irritating. Like it or not the Confederate Flag is as much a part of American history as the Don't Tread on Me Flag or the Republic of Texas Flag. Shall we delete Gods and Generals from Netflix or where it is available for streaming as it is about Confederate General Stonewall Jackson. Dukes is a silly comedy show that had nothing to do with race.
I guess DC Comics will have to retire The Haunted Tank as it features the ghost of JEB Stuart and probably has a few Confederate flags on display. Oone of the crew members of the tank is African American.
As you know this is a "facade" put on by corporations so they look inclusive, so they can garner the largest possible consumer base as possible.
The flag should not be endorsed on either the state or federal level. It is history, and belongs in history books, and museums.
But I agree it shouldn't be removed from entertainment or as a modern symbolism of youthful rebellion. If the corporations are going to wipe the confederate flag out of existent, then they should wipe out every rap song that uses the "N" word in it.
